The first Wi-Fi 6E routers from TP-Link are coming this year

TP-Link announced its first routers to support Wi-Fi 6E, a massive new upgrade to wireless networking that quadruples available airwaves for faster speeds and more reliable connections.

The first four routers announced by TP-Link include two mesh routers and two high-quality single-unit routers, including one that supports 10Gbps speeds.

Wi-Fi 6E-enabled routers add a third band to the wireless network, so in addition to the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, there will now be a 6GHz band.

This network will also be significantly larger, which means less congestion and higher speeds.

TP-Link plans to offer two mesh routers with Wi-Fi 6E support this year, the Deco X96 and Deco X76 Plus as a tri-band router, and they use the new 6GHz band.

This should result in a more stable and faster connection than traditional tri-band mesh networks.

TP-Link Supports Wi-Fi 6E

When you buy phones, laptops, and other devices that support 6GHz wireless network connections, these systems connect to them over the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands only. This is because the 6GHz network is being used by the routers themselves.

The Deco X96 promises speeds of up to 7800 Mbps. While the Deco X76 Plus promises speeds of up to 5400Mbps. It also includes a built-in Zigbee radio to support smart home gadgets.

If you want to communicate directly with devices that operate over the 6GHz wireless network. This is what the following two TP-Link routers are for.

The Archer AX96 and Archer AX206 are tri-band routers. But since they are not mesh network systems, the 6 GHz range is available for connection to individual devices.

The Archer AX96 promises speeds of up to 7800Mbps. While the Archer AX206 promises speeds of up to 10Gbps, if your internet connection is fast to support it.

Prices for the four routers have not been announced yet, and the first units are expected to start shipping in the third quarter of the year.

TP-Link also announced a few other products today, including the Deco Voice X20, a mesh Wi-Fi 6 router that also doubles as an Alexa-enabled smart speaker, launching in the coming months.

There is also the Deco X80-5G, a gateway to use 5G as home internet and also act as a Wi-Fi 6 router.

TP-Link also announced a number of new smart home gadgets under its Kasa brand, including a smart doorbell.
