The Ministry of Interior adopts a new information system to update the civil status

The Ministry of Interior decided to develop a special information system for the civil status with the aim of reducing the cost of services provided to Moroccans, through a draft decree on the subject that aims to make radical amendments to the civil status system.

The government approved, in its meeting today, Friday, on a draft decree to implement the law related to the civil status, declaring that it comes in implementation of the King’s directives to rehabilitate the Moroccan administration and raise its return, as well as embody the government program in the part related to the development of electronic administration..

The draft decree states the introduction of modern technologies for media and communication in the field of managing the civil status, stating that the Ministry of the Interior has referred to the development of a national program to update the civil status of its advancement in order to keep pace with the development that the electronic administration knows in Morocco.

According to the decree project, statistical data will be sent in an electronic manner by employment or the region, after assembling them at the end of each month, to the central interests of the civil status of the Ministry of Interior, and “the ministry is responsible for the system of transmission and electronic exchange of data of the personal nature of individuals authorized by officesThe civil status related to the information network with the competent authorities..

The draft decree presented by the Minister of the Interior, Abdel -Wafi Al -Fitt, announced that it comes to achieve the goals of the strategy set by the Ministry to qualify the civil status sector and raise its returns, stressing the importance of strengthening the capabilities of public departments and institutions, and providing immediate and accurate data that is a base for all strategic, economic and social development programs.

In this regard, the decree project revealed that an information system was developed for the civil status and the creation of a national center to store its data to open the way to establish a national record for the civil situation, highlighting that the goal is to adopt it as a basic tool for planning and public policies, by setting this rule at the signal of the sectors and administrative and social institutions to exploit itAccording to the needs.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that this amendment would set the legal ground to work in the information system of the civil status and electronic exchange of information, while assigning the authority to conclude the agreements that concern the civil status at the national level to the Minister of Interior without prejudice to the fundamental specializations of the heads of groups as civil status officers.
