وإلى جانب كل هذا فقد أنشأت «الجزيرة» في التسعينيات الميلادية نواة لبث ثقافة الإنترنت وسط المجتمع السعودي، وسعت للتعريف بهذه الخدمة قبل دخول خدمات الإنترنت للمملكة، وذلك من خلال إنشاء شبكة إنترنت الجزيرة، وكانت تبث عليها جميع محتويات موقعها على الإنترنت، إضافة إلى بعض البرامج التثقيفية والتعليمية، وأتاحت الوصول إليها من خلال خطوط الهاتف (DrrIAL UP)، وتزامن ذلك مع نجاح الجزيرة كعامل تثقيفي في هذا المجال من خلال تبني نشر الصفحات المتخصصة عن الإعلام الجديد في الصحيفة الورقية (صفحة عصر المعلوماتية اليومية، وصفحة القرية الإلكترونية)، وتوّج ذلك بإصدار مجلة ورقية هي الوحيدة من نوعها المتخصصة في منطقة الخليج بالإعلام الرقمي، هي مجلة (الاتصالات والعالم الرقمي).
