Amman, February 2022: Huawei today announced the global rollout of the Super Device Smart Office concept, a new solution that significantly enhances cross-device connectivity and collaboration between supported Huawei devices. The software-driven feature comes in line with Huawei's move toward a seamless AI-powered life, which the company envisions across five key scenarios - health and fitness, ease of travel, smart office, entertainment, and smart home.

As one of the key scenarios for Huawei Seamless AI Life, Huawei brings the vision of limitless creativity and seamless communication to the smart office, with the aim of enabling a digitally efficient work life experience through the synergy of Huawei's core capabilities: cross-device collaboration and ecosystem built-in. Cross-device collaboration allows users to connect multiple devices together in a unique experience, while ecosystem integration bridges the gap between Windows and mobile platforms, spurring creativity and improving communication efficiency.

Huawei's Super Device for Smart Office Experience

Thanks to the Super Device interface in the Control Panel, the connection between computers, smartphones, tablets and screens is established by simple drag and drop. Super device pairing starts by simply clicking on the Control Panel icon in the bottom right corner of the computer and dragging the nearby device icons towards the Computer icon.

HUAWEI Smart Office: Superior Device, Superior Creativity

As consumers acquire more smart devices, they often find themselves interacting with different and fragmented ecosystems: laptops for work, smartphones for entertainment. With no single device fully supporting all of a user's everyday needs, the ability of devices to leverage each other's strengths and create one unified experience is more important than ever, and this is especially important in light of the growing demand to maintain productivity while consumers are on the go.

Cross-device collaboration makes communication between them smoother and hassle-free. Today, Huawei intends to remove barriers between devices by bringing the Super Device to the Smart Office experience, allowing all compatible devices to work as one.

Ecosystem integration is another essential capability of the smart office. With mobile apps outperforming content interaction needs, Huawei Mobile App Engine provides access to the AppGallery platform's wealth of popular products and entertainment applications for Huawei laptops.

Super device: Together as one

Now, the Super Device is available on Huawei PCs via the easy drag interface to connect to the Super Device in the Control Center, allowing quick access to photos and files on the phone, as well as a quick and convenient connection to the smart screen for presentations. This enables a focused and efficient workflow for the user who can now easily handle tasks across devices.

With Pop-Up Pairing, the Huawei PC can also quickly and easily connect to Huawei wireless earbuds, speakers, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, as well as a printer, improving the overall smart office experience.

Collaboration with Huawei smartphones: ultimate multitasking

Once connected, the smartphone will be available as an external drive in the computer. This allows users to access smartphone files as if they were using any other external storage device, using the PC file system user interface they are familiar with.

As a super device, the smartphone interface will also be displayed on the PC screen, and with the Multi-Screen Collaboration feature, up to three mobile apps can be opened directly on the PC for multitasking. Users can also easily access the materials saved on their phone via their PC with drag and drop, and they can edit smartphone files using the HUAWEI MateBook laptop, where all changes are automatically saved on the phone, ready to go.

Collaboration with HUAWEI MatePad: Creating a Superior Joint

Like a smartphone, when connected, the tablet is recognized as an external drive in a computer, allowing files to be easily transferred and managed between devices via drag and drop or copy and paste.

The superior device feature between laptop and tablet supports three connection modes, each catering to distinct use cases.

In mirror mode, the computer screen is mirrored onto the tablet screen. Any content written or drawn with the M-Pencil on the HUAWEI MatePad is reflected in real time on the computer - a powerful feature that helps users get the most out of professional design software. In extended mode, the computer screen extends to the tablet, with each screen displaying different content. This mode turns the tablet into an external laptop display, improving productivity with more screen space. In collaboration mode, tablet files can be managed directly from the laptop.

Collaboration with HUAWEI MateView Display: Ultra Productivity

Users have the flexibility to connect a Huawei laptop to a HUAWEI MateView screen, to enjoy a larger screen. The HUAWEI MateView display supports up to 4K+ display resolution and P3 cinema-level color gamut, allowing users to view their creative work in greater detail and accuracy.

The Super Device takes users to the next level of technology experience, productivity and enjoyment as part of Huawei's move towards a seamless AI-powered life. Support for Super Device functionality will extend to previous models of Huawei PCs, as long as users upgrade Huawei PC Manager to the latest version.
