Kangana Ranaut calls for Gangbai Kathiawadi's release to cinemas: 'I never expected that the movie mafia would rise to the occasion'

Kangana's post read, "Glad to hear reviving theaters in the South film industry with record-breaking collections...! Hear some small steps being taken in the Indian belt too...with a recent female-centric film that has a super hero and a superstar director ...they may be small steps but they are not insignificant, and they will be necessary for theaters that are on ventilator here..awesome!!I never expected the movie mafia to rise to the occasion and do something so good...if they did, we would be very grateful...hope for the best" .

Kangana's mention of southern films refers to recent releases - Tamil film Valimai starring Ajith and Telugu film Bheemla Nayak starring Pawan Kalyan, which opened strong in southern states. Gangbai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and released exclusively in theatres.

Kangana had previously said that Bhansali's biggest flaw was Bhatt's choice. She shared on Instagram, "This Friday, 200 crores will be burned at the box office... for (Abbe Mafia Dad) Ki Pari (who likes to keep a British passport) because Baba He wants to prove that romcom bimbo can act...
