In addition, it can be assigned by the President of the Republic to carry out any task of investigation or investigation into special or exceptional matters, according to what is stipulated in the presidential decree that specifies its powers and organization. The President of the Republic had made it clear, earlier, that “the purpose of creating a general inspectorate affiliated to the Presidency of the Republic is to monitor the work and activity of officials so that “no official knows when this inspectorate will come to him.”

Through its direct knowledge of how governance is conducted at the local level and its contact with all segments of society, in the context of its investigations, this inspectorate will serve as a watchful eye on the implementation of government decisions and the application of the laws of the Republic, within the framework of a continuous evaluation of the performance of those in charge of embodying public policies.

In this regard, this body is responsible for following up on the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic and the implementation of his directives, which are in the field of organizing and improving the quality of the management of the interests of the state and local groups, as well as the quality of services provided by these interests in view of the needs and aspirations of citizens.

The work of this oversight body also extends to encompass everything related to the implementation of legislation that governs the functioning of the state's interests, and in particular, public institutions and bodies, local collectivities and their affiliated structures.

In order to facilitate the tasks assigned to it, this inspectorate has been empowered with a number of powers that qualify it to review the activity of the structures under inspection or control, as each task culminates in a report addressed to the President of the Republic.
