Besides Pegasus "NSO" .. a second Israeli company that penetrated iPhone phones
Reuters quoted 5 sources described as informed as a second Israeli company that took advantage of a gap in Apple's software at the same time that the Israeli NSO (NSO) e -intelligence group was able to penetrate the iPhone in 2021.
The sources said that "Kwa Dream" is a smaller and less famous company working in the field of developing smart phone penetration tools for government agents.
Last year, the two companies last year gained the ability to penetrate iPhone phones from a distance, according to the five sources, which means that the two companies can endanger Apple phones without their owners open malicious links.
In 2021, "NSO" found itself at the center of a global spy scandal after an investigation published by 17 international media outlets as of July 18, revealed that the "Begasos" program made by the company was used to spy at least 180 journalists and 600 personalitiesPolitical, 85 human rights activists, and 65 company owner in several countries.
An expert in this regard said that the use of two companies for one advanced style known as "Zero Click" proves that phones are more vulnerable to effective digital spy tools than the phone industry recognizes.
"People want to believe that they are safe and phone companies wanting you to believe that they are safe. What we realized is not."
Experts - who are working on analyzing the "NSO" and "Kwa Dream" penetrations since last year - believed that the two companies have used very similar software styles known as "Forsh Entry" to penetrate iPhone phones.
Exploitation of gaps
According to Reuters, 3 of the sources said that analysts expressed their belief that the two companies' methods of penetration were similar because they took advantage of one gaps in the Apple's instant messaging platform, and used a similar method in planting malicious software with targeted devices.
The agency confirmed that it had made repeated attempts to reach "Kawa Dream" to comment, and sent messages to her executives, and to her partners in her work.
Last week, the Reuters correspondent visited the company's office on the suburb of Ramat Jean in Tel Aviv, and no one responded to the door bell.The company's lawyer did not respond to messages addressed to him either.
A Apple spokesman declined to comment on the "Kwa Dream" case or say whether Apple intends to take any steps regarding the Israeli company.
Two informed sources said that the similarity between the two -year -olds ’methods, in the penetration, was so severe that their spyware had become useless when Apple fixed the gaps in September 2021.
A spokeswoman for "NSO" said that her company "did not cooperate" with "Kwa Dream", but "the cyber intelligence industry continues its rapid growth globally."
Apple filed a lawsuit against the "NSO" group in November, and accused it of violating the terms of use and the service agreement regarding its phones.The issue is still in its early stages.
