A training workshop on the electronic ticket window system in archaeological sites

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with i-markets, organized a training workshop for all workers at ticket and collection counters in all archaeological sites and museums in Luxor Governorate on the method of using the advanced system for tickets, payment and collection using electronic cards and electronic portals that are currently being installed and operated in archaeological sites and museums in the governorate.

Dr. Khaled Sharif, Assistant Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for digital transformation, explained that 53 employees from all archaeological sites and museums in the governorate participated in this workshop, which comes as one of the important stages in the comprehensive digital transformation strategy of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the project of digitizing the various ticket payment mechanisms, which aims to spread cashless methods of purchasing Tickets at archaeological sites and museums, in addition to tightening control at all entrance gates in order to preserve the revenues of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.

Iman Zeidan, the general supervisor of services development at archaeological sites and museums, added that one of the components of the project to raise the efficiency of services provided to visitors to improve their experience in archaeological sites and museums is the renewal and development of outlets and ticket windows in line with the technological development undertaken by the ministry in this regard.

It is worth noting that the possibility of paying entry tickets using electronic cards in all archaeological sites and museums open for visits is currently being circulated at the level of the Republic, where the installation and operation of the electronic ticket system in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Salah El-Din Citadel, the Giza Pyramids monuments area, and Luxor temples Karnak, the Valley of the Kings on the western bank of Luxor, and the Sharm El-Sheikh Museum.
